CAN ANYONE GIVE DETAILED SOLUTION FOR THE SAME

Question:
In what ratio should water be mixed with spirit worth Rs. 600 per litre so that after selling the mixture at Rs. 500 per litre the profit will be 25%.
Options:
A) 1 : 5
B) 1 : 4
C) 1 : 3
D) 1 : 2
Solution:

Selling price of milk = Rs. 500

So, 

The value of milk in mixture = Rs. 500 × \(\cfrac{4}{5}\) = Rs. 400

Cost price of wine= Rs. 600

So, ratio of water to milk

= (600 – 400) : 400

= 1  : 2
