please read question carefully here a well is consider a cylinder and we apply the volume of cylinder's formula.
Given radius of the well = 5 m
Height of the well = 14 m
Width of the platform = 5 m
Therefore radius of the platform = 5 + 5 = 10 m
Let h be the height of the platform
Hence the volume of the platform = volume of the well
That is π(R – r)2h = πr2h
(102 – 52) x h = 52 x 14
(100 – 25) x h = 25 x 14
h = (25 x 14)/75 = 14/3
Therefore, h = 4.66 cm = 4.7 (nearly)
