In the options assume and take 358 as your answer as it is the only number which is having 8 in units place and when divided by 25 it leaves reminder 8.
And when you divide 358 by 28(28*10=280 and 28*2=56 => 336) it leaves reminder 22..

Question:
A person had some sweets. If he distributes it among 25 children equally, then 8 sweets remains. If there were 28 children and on distributing it equally, 22 sweets would remain. Find the total number of sweets.
Options:
A) 359
B) 358
C) 300
D) 480
Solution:
Ans: (b) On checking it from options, we get that option (b) is the correct option.

As, 358 on dividing by 25, will give 8 as remainder.


Dividend = divisor x quotient + remainder

    358    =    25    x     y       +    8

    358 - 8 = 25 x y 

      350  = 25 x y

       14 = y

 thus, we can follow same way.

Total number of sweets n.
n-8 is divisible by 25. So n=25k+8
n-22 is divisible by 28.
So n-8-14 is divisible by 28.
25k-14 is divisible by 28.
Now 28k-3k -14 is divisible by 28.
So 3k +14 is divisible by 28.
Put k=14 3×14+14 is divisible by 28.
So total no sweets are 25×14 +8 = 358 .
