answer is wrong it should be RHS 12/35
correct me if i m wrong

Question:

HCF and LCM of two numbers x and y is 6 and 210 respectively. If x + y = 72, then which of the following relation is correct?

Options:
A) \(\cfrac{1}{x}+\cfrac{1}{y}=\cfrac{3}{35}\)
B) \(\cfrac{1}{x}+\cfrac{1}{y}=\cfrac{2}{35}\)
C) \(\cfrac{1}{x}+\cfrac{1}{y}=\cfrac{35}{2}\)
D)  Data inadequate
Solution:

Its given that, HCF and LCM of two numbers x and y is 6 and 210 respectively.

[since, product of two numbers = HCF * LCM ]

Therefore, xy = 6*210 = 1260____(1)

Now, also given that x + y = 72____(2)

Now, find its reciprocal,

1/x +1/y = (x+y)/xy = 72/1260 = 2/35

Hence, 1/x + 1/y = 2/35  is correct.
