which is the right answer option (b) or (c). As you have given option (b) as the right answer but your solution says upthrust will be less than the weight.

Question:

On holding a piece of wood under water, the upthrust on it will be –

Options:
A) equal to the weight of the wood
B) less than weight of the wood 
C) more than weight of the wood
D) zero
Solution:
Ans:  According to the Archimedes Principle, on holding a  piece of wood under water, the upthrust on it will be less than weight of the wood.
