confusing answer (Question: 88869.0 )

at a=1 both equation gives 13 then how no root is common plz explain it sir

Question:
The number of roots common between the two equations x3 + 3x2 + 4x + 5 = 0 and  x3 + 2x2 + 7x + 3 = 0 is :
Options:
A) 0
B) 1
C) 2
D) 3
Solution:

Ans: (a) Let a is the common root.

∴ a3+ 3a2 + 4a+ 5 = 0

a3+ 2a2 + 7a +3 = 0

a2-3a + 2 = 0

a = 2, a = 1

But the above values of a do not satisfy any of the equations. Thus, no root is common.
