Question:

 Two equal amounts are invested at a rate of 12% for one year at simple and compound interests. If the compound interest is compounded half yearly and the difference in the interests is 5.13 Rs., then find the principal amount in each case.

Options:
A)

 4250

B)

 1425

C)

 4500

D)

 1600

Solution:

    I.    for half yearly rate will be half

    II.     for half yearly 1 year means 2 times

    So difference is CI & SI = pr1002

            5.13 = p61002

  5.13×100×1006×6=1425
