How does it come?

Question:

In the given figure, ABC is a triangle in which, AB =10 cm, AC =6 cm and altitude AE = 4cm. If AD is the diameter of the circum-circle, then what is the length (in cm) of circum-radius?

Options:

7.5

Solution:

AB = 10cm

AC = 6cm

AE = 4cm

We now that

Area of $Δ$ ABC = $\frac{A B . B C . C A}{4 R}$

$\begin{matrix} = > \frac{1}{2} \times B C \times A E = \frac{A B \times B C \times C A}{4 R} \\ = > R = \frac{10 \times 6 \times 2}{4 \times 4} = 7.5 c m \end{matrix}$
