Given V = 50 (Vrms) ; Vm = 50√2
The circuit is Half wave rectifier. So Vrms = Vm/2;
Output voltage (Voltage across resi. Vo) = 50√2 / 2 = 50/√2;

current through resistor = Vo/R = 50/(√2* 100 ) = 0.5/√2

Question:

In the figure, D is an ideal diode. If the rms value of the input voltage is 50 V, then the rms current through 100 Ω is -

0.52A    

B)

0.25 A

C)

0.5 A

D)
