HOW 3+2N+4 BECOMES 2N+4 ONLY....

Question:
If the nth term of an A.P. is 2n+1 Find the sum of first n terms of A.P ?
Options:
A) n (n+2)
B) n(n+1)
C) n2
D) n
Solution:
Ans: (a)

A.P = 2n + 1

t (1) = 2 (1) + 1 = 3

t (n) = 2n + 1

Sum = \(\cfrac{n}{2}\)   [1s t term + Last term ]

= \(\cfrac{n}{2}\) [ 3 +2n + 4]

= \(\cfrac{n}{2}\) [2n + 4]

= n (n+2)
