can't use second form of verb with helping verb 'did' (Question: 198607.1 )

we can't use second form of verb with did but you do so in the options
why are you puzzling us with such type of errors.
this is really disgusting and can't be expected from the side of person like you

Options:
A) did what he believes
B) does what one believes

Solution:
Ans:(c) 'did what they believed' should replace the underlined part, as here, the sentence talks about a specific kind of people who follow Gandhiji's principles.
