solution is OK but key shows wrong answer

Question:
On rose day a flower seller sells some red, yellow and white colored roses with the respective price being Rs.50, Rs.30 and Rs.20. The ratio of sell of Red colored Roses and white colored roses is 7 : 1. Find the number of yellow roses he sold if the total collection for the day is Rs.980.
Options:
A) 6
B) 8
C) 10
D) Can’t be determined.
Solution:

Ans: (b) Let the number of roses sold of Red, Yellow and white colored are x, y and z respectively given that

50x + 30y + 20z = 980                                                   … (1)

And x : z = 7 : 1

x = 7z

Substituting the value in equation (1)

350z + 30y + 20z = 980

37z + 3y = 98                                                                   … (2)

In the equation (2) the value of z can’t be more than 2 so if we take z = 1

y = \(\cfrac{98-37}{3}\ =\cfrac{61}{3}\)

It is know that all x, y and z are positive integer

Take z = 2

y = \(\cfrac{98-74}{3}\ =\cfrac{24}{3}\) = 8

By equation 1, x = 14, y = 8 and z = 2.
