Question:

A father divided his money between his two sons in such a way that simple interst of 3 year on elder son’s money at 15% per annum and the Simple interest of 2 year on younger son’s money at 18% per annum is equal. Find the ratio in which money is divided

Options:

5 : 6

3 : 2

4 : 5

5 : 4

Solution:

So $\frac{x \times 15 \times 3}{100} = \frac{y \times 18 \times 2}{100}$

$\frac{x}{y} = \frac{18 \times 2}{15 \times 3} = \frac{4}{5}$
