in last line of question C walks for 13m and reaches to the position of E. Therefore distance between D and C will be equal to distance between E and C because D & E are at same position (C walks for 13m and reaches to the position of E).

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Study the given information and answer the following question.

is 20 m away from C in east direction. B is standing in south of A and is facing south direction and distance between A and B is 30 m. Now to the right of B, walking 32 m towards west, D is standing. D is eating ice-cream standing on its position and facing north. After eating ice cream D starts walking 13 m towards south direction and reaches to the position of E.

What is the distance between D and C?

32.3m

Solution:

In  DCF, 

(CD)2 = (CF)2  + (DF)2 

(CD)2 = (30)2  + (12)2 

(CD)2 = 900  + 144

CD =  1044   

CD=32.3m

Dear student
Please observe the question carefully,
it is clearly mentioned 'D starts
walking 13 m towards south direction
and reaches to the position of E.'
So option (c) is correct answer.
