 A creeper plant is climbing up and around a cylindrical tree trunk in a helical manner. The tree trunk has a height of 240 inches and a circumference of 32 inches. If the creeper covers a vertical distance of 60 inches in one complete twist around the tree trunk, what is the total length of the creeper?

Options:
A)

 272 inches

B)

 289 inches

C)

 255 inches

D)

 240 inches

Solution:

Length of creeper for one twist= 322+602   =68 inches

Total length=No. of twists required*68 =  24060   *68=4*68=272 inches
