80:120 --> 2:3 --> (interchange) --> 3:2

now 3 = 45 so 1 = 15 , therefore 2 = 30

so in 40rs he should sell 30 lemons to gain 20%

and in 24 rs he should sell -- (30/40) * 24 = 18 lemons

Question:

By selling 45 lemons for Rs.40, a man loses 20%. How many should he sell for Rs.24 to gain 20% in the transaction?

Options:
A)

16

B)

18

C)

20

D)

22

Solution:

Ans: (b)
