ratio values of one rupee and half rupee coin =
[n(1):(210 -n)(0.5)] = 13 : 11
[n : (210 -n)] = 26 : 11
put n=78 ==>one rupee coins
then (210 - n) = 210 - 78 = 132==>half rupee coins

Question:

A box has 210 coins in the form of one rupee and fifty paise only. The ratio of their respective values is 13 : 11. The number of one rupee coins is:

Options:
A) 65
B) 66
C) 77
D) 78
Solution:
Ratio of values = 13 : 11

\(\therefore\) Ratio of coins = \(\cfrac{13}{1}:\cfrac{11}{0.5}=13:22\)

A.T.Q., (13+22) unit = 210 \(\Rightarrow\) 35 unit = 210

\(\therefore\) 1 unit = 6

\(\therefore\) The number of 1 rupee coins = 6 × 13 = 78
