Dear student,
Given answer is correct
According to Question
Let the eff. 0f gagandeep = x
and the eff. of hemant = Y
x + Y = (x/2 + 6Y) 1/3
3x + 3y = x/2 + 6y
3x - x/2 = 6y - 3y
5x = 6y
x = 6 , y = 5
total work = 11 x 20 = 220
Req. time for gagandeep = 220/6

Best wishes

you simply solve LHS =RHS ,you will get X:Y =6:5,these kind of improper solutions just bamboozle the students
