please see sir/mam
after 9 hour in pair....it will be 9*2=18 and in last 1 hour it will be filled completely so no issue with empty tank so it will be 18+1=19hour

Question:

Pipe P can fill tank in 4 hrs and pipe Q can empty it in 6 hrs. If they are opened on alternate hours and pipe P is opened first then in how many hours, the tank shall be fill?
