In the expression x2 y2, the  values of both valuables x and y are decreased by 30% . By this the value of the expression will decreased by –
Options:
A) 70%
B) 77.70%
C) 73.30%
D) 75.99%
Solution:
Ans: (d) Let x = 10 and y = 10

x2 y2 = 10 ×10× 10×10

= 10000 units

Decreasing value of x and y by 30%

expression = x2 y2 = 7 × 7 × 7× 7 = 2401

Decrease   = 10000 – 2401 = 7599 units

Percentage decrease = \(\cfrac{7599}{10000}\) ×100 

                               =  75.99%
