Question:

In the given cirlce, chord PQ is 18 cm, long. AB is perpendicular bisector of PQ at M. If MB = 3 cm then the length of AB will be –

Options:
A) 27 cm 
B) 30 cm 
C) 28 cm 
D) 25 cm 
Solution:
Ans:(b) PQ = 18 cm, PM = MQ = 9 cm.

MB = 3 cm.

PM × MQ = MB × AM

9 × 9 = 3 × AM

AM = 27 cm.

AB = 27 + 3 = 30 cm.
