If a right cone has a base of radius 14 cm and slant height 16 cm, then the total surface area of cone \(\left (\pi= \cfrac {22}{7} \right )\) is:
Options:
A) 1320cm2
B) 1236 cm2
C) 1196 cm2
D) 984 cm2
Solution:
Ans: (a) Here l = 16 cm, r = 14 cm

hence total surface area of cone = \(\pi\)rl + \(\pi\)r2

= \(\cfrac{22}{7}\times14\times16+\cfrac{22}{7}\times\) 142

= 704 + 616 = 1320 cm2
