Question:
Raju ran along the sides of a square plot ABCD, of side 2 km and covered AB, BC, CD and DA at speeds of 1 kmph, 2 kmph, 8 kmph and 4 kmph respectively. Find his average speed for the entire journey. (in kmph)
Options:
A) 4\(\cfrac{1}{3}\)
B) 2\(\cfrac{2}{15}\)
C) 3\(\cfrac{1}{3}\)
D) 2\(\cfrac{2}{3}\)
E) None of these
Solution:

Ans (b) Total time that Raju ran = 2/1 + 2/2 + 2/8 + 2/4 hours.

= 3.45 hours.

 Average speed = (4(2)/3.45) kmph = 2\(\cfrac{2}{15}\)  kmph.
