If (2x) (2y) = 8 and (9x) (3y) = 81, then (x, y) is –

Options:
A) (1, 2)
B) (2, 1)
C) (1, 1)
D) (2, 2)
Solution:
Ans: (a) (2x) (2y) = 8

2x+y = 23

x + y=3                     ...(i)

(9x) (3y) = 81

32x + y = 34                 ...(ii)

By (i) and (ii)

x = 1 and y = 2
