In a group of people, 28 persons read Hindi, 22 persons read History and 16 person read  Geography. In that group, if 7 persons read exactly two subjects and 2 persons read all three subjects, then how many persons are there in the group ?

28 persons - Hindi

22 Persons - History

16 Persons - Geography

No. of persons read exactly two subjects = 7

No. of persons read all the three subjects = 2


Total number of persons = 28 + 22+16 - (7+2+2) = 66 - 11 = 55

The solution for above diagram is 28+22+16 - ( 2X7+3x2) +7+2.
Explanation: 7 is common to history and geography only whereas 2 is common to all the three subjects.
