Question:
A rectangular grassy plot is 110 m by 65 m. It has a uniform 2.5 m wide pavement all around it on the inside. The area of the path is –
Options:
A) 750 m2 
B) 850 m2 
C) 950 m2 
D) 1050 m2 
Solution:
Ans: (b) Area of the grassy plot with path 

= 110 × 65

= 7150 m2

Area of the grassy plot without path  

= (110 – 5) (65 – 5)

=105 × 60 = 6300 m2

So, area of the path=7150 – 6300 

= 850 m2
