Wrong value in equation ii of solution. It 4500 and 4550.

Question:

A sum of money becomes Rs 4500 after two years and Rs 6750 after 4 years compounded annually. The sum is?

Options:
A)

Rs. 4000

B)

Rs. 2500

C)

Rs. 3000

D)

Rs. 3050

E)

None of these

Solution:

Ans: (c)

P(1+R/100)4=6750....(1)

P(1+R/100)2=4500....(2)

Dividing equation (1) by equation (2)

(1+R/100)2=3/2

Therefore the principal will be 

=4500(2/3)=Rs 3000
