THIS IS INCORRECT.....WHEN PERSONS WORK TOGETHER THE WAGES ARE DISTRIBUTED IN PROPORTION TO THEIR EFFICIENCIES AND NOT TIME TAKEN.
HENCE THE CORRECT OPTION IS A .i.e 3:5

Question:

Ram can do a certain work in 15 days while Chandan can do it in 25 days. Both work together and finish the work. In what ratio should the total earnings be divided between them?

Options:
A)

3:5

B)

2:5

C)

5:2

D)

5:3

E)

None of these

Solution:

Ans: (d)

Work = LCM (15, 25) = 75 units

Work done in a day:

Ram = 5 units/day

Chandan = 3 units/day

As both work together and finish the work so, their earnings are in the ratio of work done by them i.e. 5:3

Alternate method-

The ratio in which the wages are divided is in inverse proportion to the time taken by them  to do the work alone.

Required ratio = Ram's Wages : Shyam's Wages = \(\left ( \cfrac {X}{x+y} \right )\times y : \left ( \cfrac {X}{x+y} \right )\times x \)= 25:15 = 5:3

aur bhai agar logically dekho
to ram kam dino me woi kam karta hai jo chandan zyada dino me karta hai
To obviously Ram ki value zyada hogi aur islie use salary bhi zyada milegi

Dear Student
Lets see this question from your perspective
if we take the ratios of their efficiencies i.e.
Work done by Ram in one day=1/15
Work done by Chandan in one day=1/25
So if we calculate their respective efficiencies
E of Ram=1/15*100.....(1)
E of Chandan=1/25*100....(2)
So, if we take the ratios of their efficiencies..
(1/15*100)/(1/25*100)=25/15=5:3
