here all three(son, seema, seema's father) average age is 32 instead of 64

Question:
Seema’s present age is four times her son’s present age and four-seventh of her father’s present age. The average of the present ages of all three of them is 32 years. What is the difference between the Seema’s son’s present age and Seema’s father’s present age?
Options:
A) 44 years.
B) 48 years.
C) 46 years.
D) Cannot be determined.
E) None of these.
Solution:

Let \(x\) be the age of Seema's son.

Seema's present age=\(4x\)

Seema's father's present age=\(4x\times\cfrac{7}{4}=7x\)

Average age of all the three=32

So, \(x+4x+7x=32\times3\Rightarrow12x=96\Rightarrow x=8\)

So, difference between ages=\(7x-x=6x=6\times8=48yrs\)
