there is 5 times not 6 times of the early investment

Question:
A, B and C together start a business. The ratio of the investments of A,B & C is 0.135 : 0.810 : 0.270. After eight months, ‘A’ adds five times his earlier investment and ‘C’ withdraws half of his earlier investment. At the end of the year, they earn a total profit of ₹4,650.What is B’s share in the profit?
Options:
A) ₹1000
B) ₹1500
C) ₹2500
D) ₹2700
E) None of these
Solution:

Let the initial investments of A, B & C be 100x , 100y and 100z respectively.

Ratio of their investments

= (135 × 8 + 810×4) : (810 × 12) : (270 × 8 + 135 × 4)

= (1080 + 3240) : (9720) : (2160 + 540)

= 4320 : 9720 : 2700

= 24 : 54 : 15

B’s share = 54 × \(\cfrac{4650}{(24+54+15)}\)

= 54 × 50

= ₹2700
