q is the 2nd highest no of houses. so q=23 and s=23-11=12

Question:

DIRECTIONS: Read the given information carefully and answer the questions.

Each of the six buildings P, Q, R, S, T and U houses different number of offices.

S has more offices than only T and R. Q has more number of offices than P but less than U. R does not house the least number of offices. The building Which houses the least number of offices has 5 offices. The building which has second highest number of offices has 23 offices. S has 11 less number of offices than Q.

If the number of offices in P is an even number which is divisible by 2 as well as 3. How many does P have?
Options:
A) 20
B) 24
C) 16
D) 18
E) 12
Solution:

Ans: (d)

According to the given information, the arrangement is as following

S > \(\cfrac{T}{R}\)              …. (i)

U > Q > P            ….(ii)

By combining both the Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get

U > Q > P > S > R > T → Building

      23   18  12   11   5 → Offices

The difference between Q and S is 11.

The second highest number of office has 23 offices.

The least number of offices has 5 offices.

If the number of offices in P is an even number which is divisible by 2 and 3, then P have 18 offices.
