Question:
Ravi is 4 times as fast as Ajay in completing any work. Ajay takes 15 days more than Ravi to finish the same work. If both work together then how many days will the work be completed?
Options:
A) 3 days.
B) 4 days.
C) 5 days.
D) 20 days.
E) 10 days.
Solution:

Let, Ajay takes x day to complete the work

\(\therefore\) Ravi will take  \(\cfrac{x}{4}\) days.

Now, x = \(\cfrac{x}{4}\) + 15

x - \(\cfrac{x}{4}\) = 15

\(\cfrac{3x}{4} =15\)

3x =60

x = 20

\(\therefore\) Ajay will take 20 days

Ravi take 5 days.

Given answer is correct...
On solving the equation, you will get:
Ajay will take 20 days.....Since its given in question that Ravi is 4 times as fast as Ajay in completing any work...So obviously,
Ravi take (20/4)=5 days....
