The following pie charts give the details of the number of different models of motorcycles sold in two consecutive years.

Total = 7 lakh

Total = 8.4 lakh

Models:

P - Maestro

Q – CT 100

R - Pulsar

S – CB Hornet

T - Shine

U - Jupiter

V – Wego

Additional data for questions 5:

The distribution for the sales of all these models in 2015 is the same as that in 2013.

In 2015, if the sales of Maestro model of Wonder motorcycles is 25% more than that in 2014, then what is the percentage increase in the sales of CT 100 model of Wonder motorcycles from 2013 to 2015?
Options:
A) 75%
B) 40%
C) 52%
D) 68%
E) None of these
Solution:

The sales of Maestro model of Wonder motorcycles in 2015 = \(\cfrac{8.4×28}{100}× 1.25 \)  = 2.94 lakh

The sales of CT100 model of Wonder motorcycles sold in 2015 = 2.94 \(× \cfrac{20}{25}\)  = 2.352 lakh

∴The required percentage increase = \(\cfrac{2.352-1.4}{1.4}\) × 100 = 68%
