x+y=200/3 x-y=200/60=10/3 now 2x=10/3+200/3=210/3=70 x=35 x=35*18/5=126kmph so ans will be 5none of these

Question:
Two trains, each 100 m long, pass each other on parallel lines. If they are going in the same direction, the faster one takes one minute to pass the other completely. If they are going in different directions, they completely pass each other in 3 seconds. Find the speed of faster train in kmph.
Options:
A) 95.5 kmph
B) 99.5 kmph
C) 126 kmph
D) 120.7 kmph
E) None of these
Solution:

R1 = \(\cfrac{100+100}{60}\) = \(\cfrac{200}{60}\)= \(\cfrac{10}{3}\) R2 = \(\cfrac{100+100}{3}\) = \(\cfrac{200}{3}\) m/s

Speed of faster train = \(\cfrac{\cfrac{10}{3}+\cfrac{200}{3}}{2}\) = \(\cfrac{210}{6}\) = \(\cfrac{105}{3}\)

\(\cfrac{105}{3}\) × \(\cfrac{18}{5}\) = 126 kmph.
