Sales of mobiles from 1991 to 1995

What is the ratio of the total number of mobiles sold by companies A and B in 1994 to that sold by companies B and C in 1995?
Options:
A) 3 : 5
B) 196 : 225
C) 147 : 225
D) 11: 17
E) None of these
Solution:
Ans. (b)  number of mobiles sold by A and B in 1994 = (12 + 16)% of 14000 = 28/100 x 14000

= 3920

number of mobiles sold by B and C in 1995 = (12 + 13)% of 18000 = 25/100 x 18000

= 4500

Required ratio = 3920 : 4500 = 392 : 450= 196:225
