B's investment is 2500, not 15000, so the answer is wrong

Question:

DIRECTIONS: In the following question, two statements numbered I and II are given, on solving them, we get quantities I and II respectively. Compare both the quantities and choose the correct option.

Quantity I- A,B, and C invested in common business. A invested Rs.10000 for 3 month, B invested Rs.15000 for 4 month and C invested Rs.12000 for 5 month. Out of a profit of Rs.1020, A's share is :

Quantity II- A's share is Rs. 204

Options:
A)

Quantity I > Quantity II

B)

Quantity I < Quantity II

C)

Quantity I ≥ Quantity II

D)

Quantity I ≤ Quantity II

E)

Quantity I = Quantity II or the relation can’t be determined

Solution:

From Quantity I-

A's investment = Rs 10000\(\times\)3 = 30000

B's investment = Rs 15000\(\times\)4 = 60000

C's investment = Rs 12000\(\times\)5 = 60000

Ratio of investment = 30000:60000:60000

        = 1:2:2

A's Share  = \(\cfrac{1}{1+2+2}\times1020\)

                 = \(\cfrac{1}{5}\times1020\)

                 = Rs 204

From Quantity II- A's share is Rs. 204
