no of 1s from 1to 100 is 20 .

Question:

How many times would the number “1” be written while listing the integers from 1 to 100?

Options:
A) 18
B) 19
C) 20    
D) 21
E) None of these
Solution:

Ans(d); 

Number of 1 at unit place = 10

Number of 1 at ten's place = 10

Number of 1 at hundred's place=1

Required number of 1 = 10+10+1=21

Given answer is correct. Please count the number '1'from the following series.
1,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,`19,21,31,41,51,61,71,81,91,100
The number'1' comes 21 times between 1 to100.

Correct answer is 21
In first 10 digits it will be only 1,1. After that 11 ones between 10-19
8 more between 21-91
and last 100.
So total 1s= 1+11+8+1=21
