The guy travelled 30m to West turned left (south) then turned right (West) and walked 8m. Then he travelled 24m towards East. He then turned south and then again turned to his left (East) and walked 8m.
Total horizontal distance travelled is distance covered in EAST + WEST directions only viz. 30 (W)+8 (W)+24 (E)+8 (E) = 70m (horizontal direction).

Question:

DIRECTIONS: These questions are based on the following information.

A person travels a distance of 30 m towards the west and turns left to travel 15 m. Again, he travels a distance of 8 m to his right and travels 24 m towards the east. He further travels 5 m towards the south and travels 8 m to his left.

When excluding the repeated horizontal distance, What is the total horizontal distance traveled by him?

Options:
A)

62m

B)

70m

C)

86m

D)

54m

E)

48m

Solution:
