DIRECTIONS: In the following questions, the symbols *,©,=,@, and # and are used with the following meaning: 

P * Q means P is greater than Q.

P © Q means P is either greater than or equal to Q.

P = Q means P is equal to Q.

P @ Q means P is smaller than Q.

P # Q means P is either smaller than or equal to Q.

Choose correct answer as given in options.

Statements: 

A @ B, D @ E, C = D, C © B

Conclusions: 

I.E * B       

II.B = E

Options:
A) Only conclusion I is true
B) Only conclusion II is true
C) Either conclusion I or II is true
D) Neither conclusion I nor II is true
E) Both the conclusions I and II are true
Solution:

Ans: (a) Statements:  

A < B, D < E, C = D, C > B

A < B  < C = D < E

Conclusions:  

I.E > B             (true)

II.B = E              (false)

Therefore, Only conclusion I is true.

B=E can never occur when we have B<= C = D < E, only E>B
