(A) The introduction of high-yielding crop varieties of seeds and the increased use of chemical fertilizers led to an increase in production.

(B) The Green Revolution in India refers to the period during which agriculture in India increased its yields due to improved agronomic technology. 

(C) Therefore, many organizations continue to invent new ways to improve the techniques already used in the Green Revolution. 

(D) This revolution began in 1953 through the introduction of higher-yield crop varieties. 

(E) This made India self-sufficient in good grains, thus improving agriculture in India. 

(F) Although Green revolution has been able to improve agricultural output in India, there is still room for improvement.

Which of the following should be the FIRST sentence after rearrangement?

Statement (B) which introduces the Green Revolution as the period during which agricultural production in India increased due to improved agronomic technology, forms the opening sentence of the paragraph. ‘This revolution in statement (D) can refer only to Green Revolution. So (D) should follow statement (B). Since statement (A) is a continuation of what is mentioned in statement (D), statement (A) should follow statement (D). So (D) follows (B) and (A) follows (D). ‘This’ in statement (E) refers only to ‘increase in production’ mentioned in statement (A). So (E) follows statement (A). So (E) follows statement (A). This leaves us with statements (C) and (F). Between these statements only (C) can ideally conclude the paragraph. This suggests that statement (F) should precede statement (C). So the sequence is BDAEFC.
