option A is right difference 280

Question:

If a sum of Rs 1,170 is distributed among A, B and C in the ratio 2 : 3 : 4, by mistake, in place of \(\cfrac{1}{2}:\cfrac{1}{3}:\cfrac{1}{4}\), then who benefited the most and by how much?

Options:
A) A, Rs 280
B) B, Rs 220
C) C, Rs 250
D) B, Rs 270
E) None of these
Solution:
Ans: (c)

Mistaken amount shares of A, B & C = ₹540, ₹360, ₹270

Original amount shares of A, B & C = ₹260, ₹390, ₹520

Thus, maximum profit difference is in the case of C which is ₹250.
