Question:
Directions: Study the following information carefully to answer the questions that follow.

The following pie chart shows the distribution of number of phones (smartphones + basic phones) sold:

Distribution of smartphones sold is shown in the following pie chart:

A total of 1, 56,000 phones (combining basic and smartphones) have been sold. Also, the number of Smartphones sold in the given time is 46,000 units.
The total number of phones sold by R1 and R3 together is higher by what percentage of the total number of phones sold by R5 and R8 together?
Options:
A) 25.10%
B) 27.27%
C) 20.23%
D) 22%
E) 50%
Solution:

The sale of phones in R1 and R3 together is = (18 + 10) % of total sales = 28% of 1,56,000 = 43,680.

Now, the sale of phones in R5 and R8 together is (15+7) % of the total sales = 22% of 1,56,000 = 34,320.

The difference is 43,680 - 34,320 = 9,360.

Therefore, the required percentage = \(\cfrac{9,360}{34,320}\)× 100 = 27.27%.
