Cost of alloy = Cost of metals used in alloy + Labour cost
Which alloy has the highest cost of metals per kg?
Options:
A) A1
B) A2
C) A3
D) A4
E) Equal for A3 and A4
Solution:

Cost of metals for 1 kg of alloy A1 = 0.68 × 125 + 0.13 × 250 + 0.08 × 220 + 0.11 × 400 = Rs.179.10

Cost of metals used for 1 kg of alloy A2 = 0.76 × 125 + 0.06 × 250 + 0.15 × 220 + 0.03 × 400 = Rs.155

Cost of metals for 1 kg of alloy A3 = 0.64 × 125 + 0.14 × 250 + 0.10 × 220 + 0.12 × 400 = Rs.185

Cost of metals for 1 kg of alloy A4 = 0.72 × 125 + 0.08 × 250 + 0.04 × 220 + 0.16 × 400 = Rs.182.80

∴ Cost of metals is the highest for alloy A3.
