Working on an assembly line a woman worker manufacturers 15 bases for an instrument while a man worker fixes 12 super structures per hour, working eight hours a day, how many men and women respectively are needed to assemble 2400 pieces in a day ?
Options:
A) 200, 160
B) 120, 96
C) 25, 20
D) 20, 25
E) None of these
Solution:
No. of bases manufacture by a woman in 8 hours = 8x15 = 120
No. of super structures fixed by a man in 8 hours = 12x8 = 96
therefore, No. of women needed to make 2400 pieces =\(\cfrac{2400}{120}=20\) 
& No. of men needed to make 2400 pieces =\(\cfrac{2400}{96}=25\).
