3500 & 1500 are production of TATA not JINDAL
There is no change in production of JINDAL during both the years.

Question:
DIRECTIONS: Study the following radar graph carefully and answer the questions that follow:

Which of the following statements is true?
Options:
A) Average steel production for the three companies together in 2012 is 2750 million tonnes.
B) Average steel production for SAIL for all the years is less than 2300 million tonnes.
C) Percentage increase in the production of Tata in 2012 is more than 120 percent from the previous year.
D) Percentage increase in the production of Tata in 2015 is more than 15 percent from the previous year.
E) None of these
Solution:

Steel production for three companies together in 2012 = 2000 + 2500 + 3500 = 8000 million tonnes

Average production = \(\cfrac{8000}{3}\)

= 2666.67 million tonnes

∴ Option (1) is false.

Total steel production for SAIL = 1500 + 1000 + 2500 + 2000 + 3000 + 4000 = 14,000 million tonnes

Average steel production for SAIL = \(\cfrac{14000}{6}\) = 2333.34million tonnes

∴ Option (2) is false.

Production of Jindal in 2012 = 3500 million tonnes

Production of Jindal in 2011 = 1500 million tonnes

Percentage increase in production in 2012 = \(\cfrac{3500 – 1500}{1500 }\)   × 100 = 133.33

∴ Option (3) is true.
