Distribution of smartphones sold is shown in the following pie chart:

A total of 1, 56,000 phones (combining basic and smartphones) have been sold. Also, the number of Smartphones sold in the given time is 46,000 units.
Find out the ratio of the number of smartphones sold by R7 to the number of basic phones sold by R8.
Options:
A) 138:67
B) 128:665
C) 32:665
D) 134:667
E) 19:21
Solution:

Number of smartphones sold by R7 = 18% of 46,000 = 8,280.

Number of smartphones sold by R8 = 15% of 46,000 = 6,900.

No of total phones sold by R8 = 156000 × \(\cfrac{7}{100}\)  = 10920

∴ basic phones = 10920 – 6900 = 4020

Required ratio = 8280 : 4020

= 138 : 67
