Directions : In the following questions two equations numbered I and II are given. You have to solve both the equations and Give Answer If

I. (x)2 = 961

II. y = √961

Options:
A) x > y
B) x ≥ y
C) x < y
D) x ≤ y
E) x = y or the relationship cannot be established
Solution:

I. x2 = 961

⇒ x = ±√961 = ±31

II. y = √961 = 31

Dear student
In first equation, X is positive and negative value.
But in the second equation, Y is only positive value.
