plz tell me how it come 15 and 8

Question:

A field is of trapezium shape whose parallel sides are 20 mtr. and 41 mtr. long and other two sides are 10 mtr. and 17 mtr. long. Find the total cost to level the field at the rate of Rs.30 per mtr2.

Options:
A) Rs.7320
B) Rs.8320
C) Rs.6320
D) Rs.9320
E) None of these
Solution:
Ans: (a) 


In \(\triangle\)AEF,

AF = 17 meter

On making triplet, we can conclude that :

FE = 15 meter & AE = 8 meter

Also, In \(\triangle\)BCD,

BC = 10 meter

On making triplet, we can conclude that :

BD = 8 meter

CD = 6 meter

Also, 15 + 6 + 20 = 41 which is satisfying.

Now, Area of trapezium = \(\cfrac{1}{2}\times8\times15+20\times8+\cfrac{1}{2}\times6\times8\)

= 84 + 160 = 244 meter2

Total cost to level the field=244\(\times\)30=Rs 7320
