70/3=35..explain it

Question:

Two partners invested Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 70,000 respectively in a business and agreed that 70% of the profits should be divided equally between them and the remaining profit in the ratio of investment. If one partner gets 90 more than the other, find the total profit made in the business.

Options:
A) Rs. 1200
B) Rs.1400
C) Rs.1600
D) Rs.1800
E) None of these
Solution:

Ans:(d) 50000 : 70000

5 : 7

According to the question

 \(\frac{30}{100}\) × 7x -  \(\frac{30}{100}\) × 5x = 90

 \(\frac{30}{100}\) × 2x = 90 or x = \(\frac{90\times100}{30\times2}\)

x = 3 × 50

x = 150

5x +7x = 12x

12 × 150 = 1800
