what about reverse order (Question: 146121.1 )

The same arrangement can be taken upside down for both the buildings and it will satisfy all the conditions, there can be two possible arrangements for this question.

Question:

DIRECTIONS: These questions are based on the following information.


Five persons J, K, L, M and N live on different floors of a five-storey building – 1. Another five persons – S, T, U, V and W  live on different floors of a five-storey building –2. Both the buildings are identical in all respects and they are constructed opposite each other. For both the buildings, the ground floor is considered the first floor and the floor immediately above the ground floor is considered the second floor and so on..till the top-most floor is considered the fifth floor. Each floor in building – 1 is opposite the floor in building – 2 but not necessarily in the same order.


The number of persons who live above M is the same as the number of persons living below U. Only two persons living between S and W. W and J lives on the second floor.Floor between T and  W is only one. S lives opposite neither N nor K. N lives adjacent to neither K nor M. K does not live adjacent to J. M lives below the even numbered floor. 

Which of these lives on the topmost floor of building – 2?

Solution:

Ans: (b) It is given that the number of persons who live above M is the same as the number of persons living below U. Only two persons live between S and W. W and J lives on the second floor. Hence M and U live on opposite floors and S  live on the fifth floors. W and J  lives on second floor.  T lives on the fourth floor because one person sits  between T and W. S lives opposite neither N nor K. Hence S lives opposite to  L. N lives adjacent to neither K nor M Hence N lives on the first floor and K lives on the fourth floor. The final living arrangement is as follows:
